Privacy policy

This is a draft. It describes how the site works today and has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer, so it is not a binding statement of your rights. Please ask us directly if anything here matters to a decision you are making.
This page explains what happens to information when you use this website. It is deliberately specific: rather than listing everything a shop of this kind could collect, it describes what this one actually does.
The short version
We do not have accounts, we do not run analytics or advertising trackers, and we set no cookies. Your basket is stored in your own browser and never leaves it until you place an order.
What we store in your browser
One entry in your browser’s local storage, under the key rbs.cart.v1. It holds the items in your basket, their quantities, and whether you chose delivery or collection.
- It stays on the device you are using and is not synced between devices.
- It is not a cookie and is not sent to us automatically with page requests.
- Clearing your browser's site data for this site removes it, and empties your basket.
Information you send us
The contact form, the newsletter box and the sign-in form on this site are not connected to anything yet — there is no inbox, list provider or accounts system behind them. Nothing you type into them is transmitted or stored, and each one tells you so when you submit it.
If you message us on WhatsApp, call, or email hello@rbs.example, we keep that correspondence so we can answer you.
Orders and payment
Online ordering is not live yet. When it is, we will need your name, delivery address, phone number and email address to fulfil and deliver an order, and we will update this page to say who processes payments and what they receive before that happens. We do not hold card details today and have no means of taking them.
Other companies involved
- Google Maps — the contact page embeds a map. It only loads when you scroll to it, and when it does, Google receives your IP address and may set its own storage. That is the only third-party embed on this site.
- WhatsApp and social links — following one takes you to that company’s own service, under its own privacy policy. We are not told that you clicked.
- Our hosting provider — like any website, requests reach a server, which keeps ordinary technical logs.
Typefaces are served from this site itself rather than fetched from Google at page load, so viewing a page makes no request to a font service.
Your rights
Because we hold so little, most requests are quick to answer. Ask us what we have about you, ask for a copy, or ask us to delete it, and we will. For the basket, you do not need us at all — clearing this site’s data in your own browser removes it entirely.
